Albuquerque International Sunport Observation Deck
FBT Architects is proud to lead the final phase of the ABQ International Sunport Dream of Flight Renovation project with the expansion and renovation of the Sunport Observation Deck. This thoughtfully designed space offers passengers a unique vantage point to experience the excitement of flight alongside serene views of Albuquerque’s surrounding landscapes.
The Observation Deck features 1,750 sf of indoor, glass-enclosed viewing area and a new outdoor terrace framed by soaring glass walls. Visitors can watch planes take off and land on all three runways while enjoying a calm, inviting space for reflection and relaxation. The project includes a public lounge and an exclusive club lounge, providing both open-access and private spaces to enhance the passenger experience. The design honors the Sunport’s Pueblo Revival architecture while integrating modern touches for a fresh, contemporary feel. The Observation Deck transforms a simple airport visit into an inspiring experience—where architecture, nature and flight come together.
