Wailea Beach Resort
The Wailea Beach Resort, Marriott Maui in Wailea, Hawaii was an extensive renovation and re-positioning project that expanded on the existing features while adding amenities including a new pool/slide complex, movie theatre, Kid’s Camp, Game Lounge, Departure Lounge, Meeting and Event space, Guest rooms and Suites. Based on a long-standing relationship with the client, we were tasked with creating a Master Plan of the 22-acre oceanfront resort that elevated the guest experience by providing premium amenity offerings – while making the Client’s vision of doubling or tripling the existing room rate a reality due to the team’s execution and creativity.
The extensive scope of work allotted for around-the-clock coordination and facilitation of the existing conditions. While documenting the 9 separate buildings of this sprawling resort, the challenge of keeping pace with an aggressive schedule – while managing budget and quality expectations – was solved with a member of the team placed on site full-time. The team maintained regular collaboration with the local AOR through extensive meetings and conference calls and managed Lighting Design, Graphic Design, and Landscape Design efforts to solidify the alignment of vision and branding and defined in the Master Plan. Significant time and capital were also invested in enhancing ground level rooms and suites with expanded lanais, shade structures, and luxury FFE, reinforcing the elevated experience throughout the property.
