The Sunport terminal renovation is coming along!

The new TSA Checkpoint unveiled December 16, 2023, marked the first major milestone of the Support Concessions, Checkpoint and TSA Renovations. This renovation emphasizes the passenger journey with updates to key spaces to enhance the traveler experience and optimize tenant and TSA operations. The design embraces the Sunport’s identity and celebrates Albuquerque’s unique character.

The TSA checkpoint and concessions program, located on Level 3, are being redesigned and relocated to enhance passenger access to concessions and amenities. With an emphasis on local operators, the expansion will feature more community based vendors, emphasizing New Mexico’s unique culture. As a result, this renovation will boost the local economy and increase revenue for the Albuquerque Sunport and its concessionaires. Additionally, the project includes upgraded life safety and fire suppression systems for all post-security areas.

“The TSA Checkpoint soft opening marks the first major project milestone. Design of the food and beverage tenant improvements is underway, with the new concessionaire opening in the fall and full completion by December 2024.
