UNM Hospitals Master Plan
The University of New Mexico Hospital is the largest healthcare provider in New Mexico and holds the distinction of operating New Mexico’s only Level I Trauma Center. Home to the highly regarded UNM Children’s Hospital of NM and Carrie Tingly Hospital, UNMH recognized the need for a long-range functional facility master plan that would pinpoint areas for strategic growth, identify obsolete facilities, provide a phasing plan and align their facilities within the strategic plan.
FBT, in conjunction with NBBJ, conducted site, facilities, and infrastructure assessments of the main hospital to identify the major deficiencies. Building upon a strategic plan prioritizing improved patient care and teaching environments, we provided programming, test-fit planning, and an action plan of projects with capital cost impacts. The facility master plan allowed UNMH to prioritize their long-term facility improvements within a five to ten-year funding plan.
