Employee Spotlight With Antonio Vigil
Art Tatum, President, Director of Design
Antonio’s career journey has evolved through continual exploration. After ten years at a smaller firm focused on private development, he transitioned to FBT, where he has gained experience with large-scale, public-sector projects and collaborating with larger teams. This move has been crucial in Antonio’s growth as an architect, equipping him with the skills to create spaces that serve diverse interests and positively impact the built environment.
Antonio’s approach to architecture has been profoundly influenced by the advice to always be prepared. He sees architecture as a dynamic process where ideas evolve through research, collaboration and experimentation. He believes, ‘…a more well-developed design solution will be created by bringing more ideas to the discussion.’
Antonio values the diverse perspectives and expertise of his FBT family, which have helped shape his professional journey. From collaborative work sessions to the cherished 3 pm daily espresso break with colleagues, the office environment at FBT has deepened his appreciation for teamwork, mutual learning and achieving shared goals.
He derives inspiration from exploring new cities and outdoor landscapes, documenting these experiences through photography and sketches. Though he admits his camera roll is dominated by pictures of his dogs, his adventurous spirit and curiosity feed back into his architectural work and influence his approach to design.
Antonio values learning from others while staying true to his own process and values. He believes achieving this balance will foster innovation and “ensure your work is authentic and meaningful” no matter your field. At FBT, he continues to do just that—creating spaces that inspire and serve our communities through teamwork, innovation and exploration.
