James is a certified urban planner who believes in making the planning process interactive, inclusive and accessible to a wide range of stakeholders. James’s interest in planning was sparked by a high school trip to Vancouver, BC. The visit inspired him to start modeling futuristic cities in an early version of SketchUp, and eventually led him to graduate school for a degree in Community and Regional Planning. Since graduation, he has been actively involved in community development, economic development and planning projects across New Mexico. James is a member at-large for APA-NM and an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Mexico. In his free time, James enjoys spontaneous road trips, hiking, biking, listening to podcasts compulsively and exploring new cities.
